World Juggle

On my last day in New Zealand I shot this video of Pauly Paul as we waited for a potential buyer for my van to arrive.

I’ve always been fond of the shoulder launcher, and recently have been working on multiplex launches. This is video of me using it in a passing pattern with Mark at juggling club yesterday.

Cedric arrived from France to teach in Tucson. Over several years he endeared himself to the Tucson Jugging Club.

It’s 110°F in Tucson and I’m juggling with the sprinklers on. Recently I started trying to do a thumb screw with two clubs with some success. On Sunday I was playing with knob balances and came up with a trick that would be great if I could isolate them. Seems too obvious… I bet someone has done it before.

Last summer I participated in a collaborative video in which members of the Rec.Juggling community submitted short clips of them juggling. I sent in a clip that I shot one day while having a yard sale, but due to delays in the project I had time to practice and find a really nice location on the west side of Tucson to shoot a new video. When the collaborative video appeared online they had used my first clip shot in the back yard, rather than the one above.

Auckland has the best juggling night in New Zealand, so whenever I’m in town I stop in. Last night, Chris shot some video of me playing around with my favorite sequence of balances.

I am constantly throwing a club over my shoulder when I’m standing around talking to someone and haven’t had time to put my clubs down yet.

I just finished delivering Vanessa Vortex to Circus Aotearoa. She had been traveling with me since the New Zealand juggling festival. We spent some time at the circus where we got to use some of the equipment and hang out with the performers. There were a few late-night juggling sessions in the marquee where I got to juggle with some other performers who were also traveling through. After several days of living the circus life next to the train tracks, I decided I wanted to get back on the road, while Vanessa decided to stay and will be performing with them for a while.

While traveling to Auckland from Wellington, I stopped in Rotorua and performed in Circus Aotearoa.
